Bonded for Life

Yesod of Netzach

Hi everyone, Jordan Drayer, the savvy millennial voice actress whose endurance is aided by strong bonds. Today is three weeks and six days of the Omer. If you want to know more about the Omer and how it works, check out the links in the description.

Yesod of Netzach, the quality of bonding in endurance. Immediately I think of the best of friendships and marriages; the bonds are strong, the people do stuff often together and talk about their problems with each other. This is truly the commitment part to the relationship. Again, if you love someone or love your job, you're more likely to stay with them or it. You'll want to keep strengthening your bond just because you like being with them, or you'll continue to do good work.

If you want to bond with a process, like "I'm gonna start walking every day 30 minutes," then immediately take some step to actualize it. Go walk right then and there, or plan out on your calendar the times you're going to walk. If you want to commit to learning a language, same thing; scope it out in your calendar and decide the best time to study. Come up with fun ways to learn that language, such as watching "let's plays" on YouTube of video games or watching makeup tutorials, whatever you're in to. I used to make comics in French when I was first learning it to then read and translate to my sister. Just like getting to know a person can be fun, you can bond with a process.

Something I'm trying to bond with is the process of dating in general. It's really hard for me to go out with a stranger when I'd rather be with my established friends, and I really don't get attracted to people until I know them very well, as I'm something like demisexual. I've been trying to think how to make dating fun for myself, and the only things that come up are choosing places I already like, such as the beach, or choosing a new restaurant so at least I'm getting to know the city better. I'll keep working on that.

The exercise for today is just this; in order to bond with a new resolution, do something related to it immediately. If you haven't done anything related to the Gevurah and Netzach days of Netzach, the ones where we were going to improve bad habits, now is the time.

I said I was going to stop ripping the skin around my nails off. How can I bond to a process of not doing this? I put another habit in its place, a loving one like massaging the skin or maybe playing with a bracelet or ring instead. Find what works for you, like and share, and I'll see you tomorrow for the last day of Netzach.
